A Visitor Guide That Starts at the Airport

BOHOL - Bohol-Panglao International Airport and tana! have introduced a visitor discovery guide designed to help arriving travelers explore beyond the usual tourist destinations. Visitors can access locally curated routes, recommendations, and community stories through QR codes, printed mini-zines, and a dedicated section in the tana! mobile application. The guide also provides practical airport information, including the locations of 24-hour tourist SIM kiosks, the Grab booking booth, Nomad Express for last-minute travel essentials, and vantage points within the terminal. By making these details available upon arrival, the initiative gives travelers a starting point for planning their time on the island.

Five Itineraries Introduce Different Sides of Bohol

The partnership also features five itineraries under the "Bohol Maxxing" campaign, offering visitors different ways to experience the province. Among the highlighted options are a reimagined countryside tour that includes firefly watching, a half-day immersion in Tagbilaran City, and a coastal and farm experience for returning visitors interested in permaculture farming and cacao roasting. These activities encourage travelers to look beyond conventional sightseeing and discover experiences connected to local food, agriculture, culture, and community life. The variety of suggested routes also gives visitors more flexibility depending on their schedules and interests.

Community Recommendations Help Local Businesses Gain Attention

One important feature of the tana! guide is its use of recommendations reviewed and curated with community input. This approach aims to highlight places that local residents genuinely value, giving smaller establishments and lesser-known destinations opportunities to reach travelers. Restaurants, community spaces, farms, and other local attractions may benefit when visitors explore beyond the busiest tourism areas. BPIA General Manager Aldwin Uy said the initiative aims to make the airport the beginning of a deeper connection between passengers and the island. As more travelers use these guides, the partnership can help distribute tourism interest across different communities while encouraging visitors to appreciate the everyday experiences that make Bohol distinct.
