ORMOC CITY — Easing the daily financial burdens of tertiary students, city officials led by Acting Mayor Leo Carmelo Locsin Jr. officially launched the Our Daily Bread Program (ODBP) at the Ormoc City Hall lobby on September 2, 2026.
Targeted Meal and Transportation Support
Designed to assist economically disadvantaged students enrolled at the City College of Ormoc (CCO), the local government-funded initiative provides direct daily relief to ensure financial constraints do not disrupt higher education:
Daily Assistance Package: Qualified CCO students will receive daily meal allowances and transportation support to subsidize commuting costs.
Focus on Remote Barangays: The program places special priority on students traveling from far-flung rural barangays across Ormoc City who face higher daily transportation expenses.
Strengthening Student Welfare: By addressing essential daily needs, LGU Ormoc aims to reduce drop-out rates driven by financial hardship and promote equal academic opportunities.
City Leadership Commitment
The launch was attended by key city figures, including Sangguniang Panlungsod Members Tomas Serafica, Peter Rodriguez, and Kia Mercadal, alongside CCO OIC-President and College Administrator Atty. Nolito Quilang, highlighting strong local government backing for local youth development.
