Mayor Raisa Treñas signed the commitment on Wednesday, August 26, at City Hall. The signing was witnessed by European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Executive Director Florian Gottein and Race to Net Zero Philippines Campaign Lead Dawn Cabigon. The pledge commits the city to pursue net zero in the 2040s or sooner.
The mayor emphasized that this commitment goes beyond policy. "We will work with our communities, businesses, schools and partners to create cleaner air, greener streets, better mobility, stronger resilience and a more livable Iloilo for every Ilonggo," she said.
