Enhancing Local Cinematic Storytelling Skills
BOHOL - The Provincial Government of Bohol actively strengthens the regional creative sector through the recent Sine Bohol 2026 Story to Screen Workshop. Conducted from September eleven to thirteen at Panda Tea Garden, the program drew aspiring filmmakers from across the region. Renowned filmmaker and educator Nick DeOcampo led the sessions, providing rigorous instruction in screenwriting, character development, and documentary directing. Participants refined their creative concepts through intensive training before concluding the seminar with an engaging project pitching session.
Advancing Toward Film Production Stages
Following the intensive instructional phase, participants will transition directly into active film production scheduled for September nineteen and twenty. This hands-on phase allows attendees to translate newly acquired technical skills into tangible cinematic projects highlighting authentic local narratives. The broader initiative aims to capture unique stories reflecting the province's rich heritage, diverse communities, and vibrant cultural identity. Such targeted mentorship ensures that regional artists possess the technical proficiency required to produce compelling visual media.
Culminating in the Upcoming Roadshow
All completed film projects will ultimately be showcased during the highly anticipated second annual Sine Bohol Roadshow and Community Screenings. This month-long celebration running through October features community screenings, a grand gala, and an awards ceremony honoring outstanding achievements. By championing initiatives like Sine Bohol, the provincial administration continually invests in local talent while proudly reinforcing its UNESCO Global Geopark heritage. These concerted efforts cement the region's growing reputation as a thriving hub for independent filmmaking and cultural expression.
