MAKATI CITY — In line with its commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and learner-friendly environment in public schools, the Makati City Government, through the Makati City Police and in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) Makati, recently conducted an Anti-Bullying and Safe Spaces Seminar for Grade 9 students of Makati High School. The seminar aimed to raise awareness on bullying prevention, educate students on their rights and responsibilities, and emphasize the importance of creating respectful and safe spaces within the school community. This initiative is part of a continuing campaign by the Makati City Police to promote safer schools.
A Collaborative Effort for Student Safety and Well-being
The session at Makati High School marks the beginning of a broader effort to reach more students across the city. In coordination with DepEd and school administrators, similar seminars will be conducted in other schools throughout Makati. These sessions will cover essential topics such as bullying prevention, the provisions of the Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313), and the shared responsibility of building a culture of respect, inclusion, and safety in every school. The program reflects a whole-of-community approach, aligning with the national government's directives to strengthen child protection and anti-bullying policies in schools.
