MAKATI CITY — On June 28, 2026, Ayala Avenue will do more than just provide a break from traffic; it will become the backdrop for a shared journey toward better health. Sun Life Philippines is set to introduce the Sun Day Collective, an initiative designed to transform the city's most iconic business thoroughfare into a vibrant hub of movement, recovery, and social connection. As part of the Ayala Car-Free Sundays initiative, a collaborative effort between Ayala Land, the Makati Commercial Estate Association (MACEA), and the local government of Makati, the event invites residents and visitors alike to prioritize their well-being in a communal setting.
A Morning Built Around Community and Inclusivity
At the heart of the Sun Day Collective is a simple, powerful idea: wellness should be accessible to everyone. The upcoming event will feature a community run led by various local run clubs, offering different pace groups to accommodate participants of all fitness levels. Beyond running, attendees will explore movement sessions such as rope flow and hula hoop, alongside recovery experiences including cold plunge sessions in partnership with Longevity Labs. Dedicated lifestyle spaces will also be available, creating opportunities for attendees to slow down, connect, and enjoy the morning with like-minded individuals.
Building a Stronger, More Connected Community
Sun Life has long championed financial literacy, but through the Sun Day Collective, the brand is reinforcing a holistic approach to living well—one that encompasses physical health, mental recovery, and the everyday habits that support a brighter life. “Sun Day Collective is about creating simple, real ways for people to live bright now,” says Carla Gonzalez-Chong, Chief Client Experience and Marketing Officer of Sun Life Philippines. “It’s where movement, recovery, and connection come together in a way that feels natural and enjoyable, whether you’re just starting your wellness journey or already living an active lifestyle.”
A Growing Movement Beyond Makati
Following its Makati launch on June 28, the Sun Day Collective will expand through a series of community activations across different cities from July to October. By collaborating with run clubs and wellness groups nationwide, Sun Life aims to make wellness more accessible while building a stronger, more connected fitness and lifestyle community across the Philippines.
