The funding, co-financed by the Asian Development Bank, aims to protect coastal resources and expand the blue economy, directly impacting millions of Filipinos.

The financing will support the Marine Ecosystem for Blue Economy Development (MEBED) program, focusing on critical policy reforms. Go emphasized that securing marine resources is vital for protecting livelihoods and strengthening climate defenses.
The program is expected to benefit over three million people, including fisherfolk, aquaculture operators, and tourism workers. It aims to generate sustainable livelihoods and boost national income while making coastal communities more resilient.
