The Most Distinguished Destination Award went to Moalboal for its tourism campaign “Dagway sa Paraiso.” Known worldwide for the breathtaking sardine run, rich marine biodiversity, and powdery white sands, Moalboal has cemented Cebu’s position as a premier dive and eco‑tourism hub. The municipality’s commitment to sustainable tourism ensures these natural wonders endure.
The award recognizes how a local community can leverage its natural assets to create jobs and attract international visitors. Moalboal’s thriving dive shops, resorts, and restaurants form a vibrant economic ecosystem. Cebu’s Culinary Scene Earns Global Applause
A highlight of the evening was the Michelin Appreciation Ceremony, honoring Cebu restaurants recognized by the prestigious Michelin Guide. Twelve establishments received plaques under the Michelin Selected category, including Abli Cebu, CUR8, Enye by Chele Gonzalez, House of Lechon, and The Pig & Palm. Their inclusion signals Cebu’s arrival as a world‑class culinary destination.
Six Bib Gourmand awardees were also celebrated for offering exceptional food at reasonable prices. Abaseria Deli & Café, ATO‑ATO, Lantaw Native Restaurant–Compostela, Pares Pares, Pares Batchoy Food House, and Sialo all prove that quality dining in Cebu is accessible to everyone. International Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IPI) was named Most Distinguished Institution for its decades‑long legacy of manufacturing trusted healthcare products while generating local employment. The ProgreCebu Excellence Award went to fashion designer Cary Santiago, whose couture creations have showcased Cebuano craftsmanship on international runways, strengthening the province’s creative economy and cultural identity.
