From Bacolod Standout to National Team Player
BACOLOD - The City of Bacolod is celebrating Chastene Jover, a former ETCS II and Domingo Lacson National High School softball standout who is now part of the Philippine Women’s National Baseball Team. Jover recently became part of a historic Philippine performance at the 2026 WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup in Tainan, Taiwan, where the Philippines secured a remarkable 6-0 victory over Cuba. Her achievement represents another proud moment for Bacolod as one of its homegrown athletes continues to make an impact on the international stage.
A Proven Record of Excellence
Before earning a place on the national team, Jover had already built an impressive record representing Bacolod and the Philippines in international competitions. She was a Palarong Pambansa gold medalist in 2016 and 2017 and won the Batang Pinoy National Championship in 2016. In 2017, she also became an Asia Pacific Champion in Singapore and later earned a silver medal at the Senior League World Series in Delaware, USA. These accomplishments helped establish her as a talented and competitive athlete long before she began wearing the national colors.
