TACLOBAN CITY, LEYTE — The Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Tacloban has officially opened auditions for "Senior Citizen Idol," a city-wide singing competition designed to celebrate the musical talents and passion of local elderly residents.
Audition Guidelines and Eligibility Requirements for Elderly Performers
The vocal competition invites elderly Taclobanons to demonstrate their singing abilities under specific registration and performance criteria:
Participant Eligibility: Open to Tacloban City residents aged 60 and above who are registered senior citizens holding a valid Senior Citizen’s ID and are physically fit to perform on stage.
Required Documentation: Applicants must submit a photocopy of their Senior Citizen’s ID (front and back) along with an accomplished Senior Citizens IDOL Registration Form, available directly at the OSCA Office.
Acapella Performance Format: Screening and audition rounds require participants to perform strictly acapella, without any instrumental accompaniment or background music, while wearing casual attire.
Media and Documentation Consent: Participation automatically grants consent for photography and video recording intended for official documentation and event promotional purposes.
Selection Process and Grand Stage Showcase
Organizers are coordinating the screening timeline to prepare the top performers for a major public showcase:
Top 15 Finalist Selection: The production team will evaluate all auditionees to select the top 15 finalists who will advance to perform live on the People's Center Stage.
Registration Deadline: Auditions and document submissions will remain open through September 25, 2026.
