ILOILO CITY — SM Development Corporation has opened its SMDC Nature Visayas Hub at SM Strata Tower 2 along Benigno Aquino Avenue, establishing a 300‑square‑meter regional office that anchors the company’s growing commitment to Western Visayas. The hub marks a significant step in SMDC’s expansion beyond Metro Manila, bringing its community‑centered approach closer to one of the country’s most dynamic regional markets.
More than a sales office, the Visayas Hub functions as a full‑service center integrating customer service, administrative support, and back‑end operations. By consolidating these functions under one roof, SMDC reduces reliance on Manila‑based coordination and strengthens servicing for buyers in Iloilo and Bacolod. The hub is designed to make transactions smoother and more responsive to local homeowners.
Presence With Purpose
“The opening of the SMDC Nature Visayas Hub is about presence with purpose,” said Jessica Bianca T. Sy, Vice President and Head of Design, Innovation and Strategy. She emphasized that being closer to regional markets allows SMDC to design communities more aligned with how people live on a daily basis.
This proximity supports a more responsive and localized approach to development, ensuring each project reflects the preferences and pace of life in Western Visayas. The hub enables SMDC to connect more directly with existing homeowners, prospective buyers, and local partners. It signals a long‑term bet on the region’s residential future.
Iloilo as a Strategic Growth Market
Iloilo City plays a central role in SMDC’s regional strategy. With its strong cultural identity, steady economic momentum, and continued urban development, the city has emerged as a prime location for residential communities that prioritize accessibility, convenience, and quality of life. Colliers Philippines recently reported that Iloilo’s condominium take‑up rate reached 89 percent in the first quarter of 2026.
SMDC’s existing Visayas portfolio includes Glade Residences and Style Residences in Iloilo, alongside Smile Residences and Parkville in Bacolod. Approximately 3,800 to 4,000 units are lined up for turnover this year, with around 1,900 units at Glade Residences beginning in April and close to 1,000 units at the fully sold Style Residences.
