The SPES (Special Program for Employment of Students) applications are ongoing today, Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Floating Pavilion, Unlad Pier, Cavite City. This program is open to college students who wish to gain work experience across various offices of the City Government of Cavite.

Requirements and Application Details

Please ensure you bring the following required documents before your interview:

  • 2 photocopies of your Birth Certificate

  • 2 photocopies of your College Registration Form

  • 2 copies of your Proof of Passing GWA (from the previous semester or school year)

  • 2 original copies of the Certificate of Indigency (issued under the parent's/guardian's name, explicitly stating it is for the SPES application)

  • 2 copies of your Resume

  • 2 photocopies of a Valid ID

  • 2 Passport Size ID Pictures

  • A Letter addressed to the local government

How SPES Works

The SPES program provides students with temporary employment for a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 78 working days . Under the program, the City Government of Cavite pays 60% of the student's salary, while DOLE covers the remaining 40% based on the applicable minimum wage in the area .

Beyond the financial support, SPES provides students with valuable work experience for better school-to-work transition . Studies have shown that the program has a significant positive impact on beneficiaries' education, working relationships, finances, and personality development .
