BACOLOD - St. John’s Institute-Bacolod earned its second consecutive victory in the 2026 Shakey’s Juniors National Invitationals with a convincing 25-20, 25-17 win over Pusong Azul at the Playtime FilOil Arena in San Juan. The straight-set triumph improved the Falcons’ unbeaten record to 2-0, placing them in a strong position as the tournament progresses. Demonstrating composure and consistency throughout the 57-minute match, the Bacolod-based squad showcased its ability to execute on both offense and defense while maintaining control during crucial moments. The victory reflects the team's preparation and determination to compete at the highest level of high school volleyball.
Strong Individual Performances Lead the Way
Leading the Falcons was Caera Celis, who delivered an outstanding all-around performance by scoring 16 points through 12 successful attacks, three service aces, and one block. Her efficient attacking percentage highlighted the team's disciplined offensive strategy and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Kara Feril also made valuable contributions with nine points, while setter Mishaella Geraldizo orchestrated the offense with seven excellent sets that kept the team's attack organized and effective. Their combined efforts demonstrated the depth and teamwork that have fueled St. John’s Institute-Bacolod's strong start in the national tournament.
