TAGUIG CITY — Pet owners in Barangay New Lower Bicutan can avail of free veterinary services during the Pet Caravan on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The event will be held at Mercado de Lago, Lakeshore Park along C6 Road.
A Full Day of Free Pet Care
The City Veterinarian's Office organized the caravan exclusively for residents of Barangay New Lower Bicutan. Services include free pet deworming, anti-rabies vaccination, microchip tagging, consultation, and vitamin shots with medicines. These offerings aim to keep companion animals healthy and protected.
The highlight is the free spaying and neutering program, with 100 slots available. No pre-registration is required. Interested owners simply walk in on the day, and slots are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizers encourage early arrival to secure a spot.
What Pet Owners Must Bring
Residents must present proof of residency, such as a valid ID with a Taguig address or a barangay certificate from the EMBO area. An updated anti-rabies vaccination card should also be brought if available. These documents confirm eligibility and help staff track each pet's health record.
Owners must bring a cage or leash for their pets, plus tissue paper, cloth, and plastic bags for waste cleanup. Pets should wear diapers, with extra ones on hand, because no diaper means no entry. Aggressive animals require a mouth cover or muzzle for everyone's safety.
Health Requirements for Each Service
For deworming, pets must be healthy and at least two weeks old. Anti-rabies vaccination requires animals to be healthy, at least three months old, and free from illness. Female pets must not be in heat, pregnant, or nursing, and must not have bitten anyone in the past 14 days.
Spaying and neutering have stricter guidelines. Cats must be at least six months old and weigh three kilograms or more. Dogs must be at least six months old and weigh four kilograms or more. Both must fast for six to eight hours before the procedure.
Important Reminders Before You Go
Parking at the venue is limited, so organizers recommend drop-off and pick-up arrangements. Residents from other barangays are discouraged from attending due to venue size constraints. Limiting the crowd prevents overcrowding, long queues, and extended waiting times.

The Pet Caravan reflects Taguig's commitment to animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. By providing free services, the city helps families care for their companions without financial burden. It also promotes community health by preventing rabies and controlling stray animal populations.
