DAVAO — A new ₱50-million multipurpose school gymnasium was officially turned over to Tagum City National High School on September 17, 2026, during a blessing and turnover ceremony. The facility provides a modern, durable, and safe venue for learning activities, sports programs, and school events.
A Modern Venue for Learning and Sports
The new gymnasium replaces an older structure that had deteriorated after years of heavy use. Construction began in September 2024 in response to the urgent need for a safer facility. The completion marks a significant upgrade for the school community.
Students now have access to a spacious, well-ventilated venue for physical education classes, athletic training, and intramural competitions. The facility can also host school assemblies, cultural presentations, and community gatherings. Its design prioritizes safety and functionality.
The project was funded by the national government through the Local Government Support Fund–Financial Assistance to Local Government Units. This program supports infrastructure improvements in local communities. The investment reflects a commitment to quality education and youth development.
Leaders Attend Turnover Ceremony
The blessing and turnover drew key officials led by Congressman De Carlo “Oyo” Uy, Board Member Jane Ang, Mayor Rey T. Uy, and Vice Mayor Atty. Lorraine Estabillo. City councilors, Barangay Visayan Village officials, teachers, and students also attended.
Their presence underscored the collaborative effort behind the project. The city government and national agencies worked together to secure funding and implement the construction. Local leaders expressed pride in delivering a facility that will benefit generations of students.
