The international cruise ship MV Luminara, the newest and largest vessel of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, made its maiden port of call at Coron, Palawan on Sunday, January 18. Known for its high-quality voyages and unique itineraries to destinations around the world, this "ultra-luxury" ship carried more than 200 foreign tourists who eagerly explored the island-province's renowned beaches, lakes, lagoons, and other breathtaking marine attractions. Before reaching the stunning shores of Coron, the vessel had recently docked for the first time in Ilocos Sur on January 15 and Boracay on January 17, showcasing some of the Philippines' most beautiful locations.The Coron visit, meticulously organized by Sharp Travel Service, a Department of Tourism (DOT) accredited tour operator, featured an array of exciting activities, including swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and trekking. Tourists had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural wonders of Barracuda Lake, Kayangan Lake, Banul Beach, Atwayan Reef, Beach 91, Twin Lagoon, Cyc Beach, Coron Coral Garden, and Siete Pecados. Following their adventures in Coron, the passengers continued their exploration of Palawan, visiting El Nido on January 19 and Puerto Princesa on January 20. The cruise passengers were warmly received by the DOT MIMAROPA office, led by Regional Director Roberto Alabado III, along with LGU representatives, including Mayor Mario Reyes and Coron Port Manager Erwin Gatpandan.
