Empowering Young Boholanos Through Awareness
BOHOL - he Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), headed by Department Head Ma. Conrada Fuentes, conducted the Community Empowerment through Youth Awareness Program on September 2, 2026, at Danao National High School, reaching nearly 400 senior high school students. Led by Community Development Officer Benjamin Villeno, the program provided students with relevant information to help them make informed and responsible decisions as they prepare for higher education and adulthood. The initiative gave young participants an opportunity to learn about issues that could affect their personal well-being, future plans, and communities.
Strengthening Youth Participation and Community Empowerment
The program highlights the Provincial Government of Bohol’s continuing efforts to strengthen youth participation by giving young Boholanos access to information that can help guide their decisions. Awareness programs can encourage students to become more engaged with their communities while developing a stronger understanding of issues that affect their future. By bringing government and community experts directly to schools, the initiative also creates opportunities for young people to ask questions, gain knowledge, and become more informed members of society.
Building a Smart and Resilient Bohol
The initiative supports the province’s Strategic Governance Roadmap toward a smart, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable Bohol. It also reinforces the importance of introducing younger generations to the province’s identity as the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark and Regenerative Island. By combining youth education, community awareness, and heritage appreciation, programs like this help prepare young Boholanos to participate meaningfully in the province’s continuing development and contribute to stronger and more resilient communities.
