Uniting Ubi Growers Across Seven Municipalities
BOHOL - The Bohol Eastern Ubi Growers Association is bringing together growers from seven municipalities as part of efforts to strengthen the province’s ubi industry. The association held the induction of its officers on September 16, 2026, at the Municipal Agriculture Office in Valencia, gathering representatives from Anda, Mabini, Valencia, Jagna, Duero, Guindulman, and Candijay. The gathering provides a shared platform for growers to coordinate their efforts and develop a stronger network for the local ubi sector.
Building a More Organized Farming Network
Valencia Mayor Dionisio Neil A. Balite inducted the association’s officers, while Provincial Agriculturist Liza M. Quirog highlighted the importance of establishing a clear organizational and legal foundation. She emphasized the role of a Constitution and By-Laws in guiding the association’s governance and business operations. The province’s six ubi grower clusters have also been registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), supporting their formal recognition and helping strengthen the organizational structure behind Bohol’s ubi growers.
Supporting the Future of Bohol’s Ubi Industry
The association reflects an effort to connect farmers across municipalities and create a more coordinated production network for ubi. Under the Capitol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap, the Provincial Government of Bohol, together with partner local government units, continues to support the organization of growers and the development of local agricultural industries. For communities in eastern Bohol, stronger farmer organizations can provide a foundation for collaboration as growers work toward sustaining production and expanding opportunities within the province’s ubi industry.
