LEYTE - The Municipality of Burauen, Leyte has completed a wastewater treatment facility within its public market complex, making it the first known public market wastewater treatment plant of its kind in Eastern Visayas. The PHP17-million project was developed to collect, treat, and properly dispose of wastewater produced within the Burauen Commercial Complex, one of the town's busiest commercial areas. With an estimated annual treatment capacity of 23.4 million liters, the facility is expected to significantly improve sanitation and wastewater management in the market.
