BUTUAN CITY — The abundance of fresh harvests, fish, and local products from various barangays took center stage at the Agrikultura Ka'amo Isda-anan held at the City Hall Grounds as part of the 76th Adlaw Hong Butuan celebration. Farmers and fisherfolk gathered to showcase and sell their products, highlighting the progress of agriculture and fisheries in the city. The event underscored the vital role of their hard work in providing food and livelihoods for the people of Butuan.
Competitions Showcase Skills and Knowledge
Various competitions were held to showcase the knowledge and skills of participants. These included the Agri Booth Competition, Farm Plate Challenge, Best Value Added Products, Asexual Propagation or Plant Grafting, and the Agri Diagnostic Skills Competition. The contests not only highlighted the talents of local farmers and fisherfolk but also promoted innovation and excellence in agricultural practices.
Winners of the Biggest and Best Produce
In the biggest produce segment, Aijelyn Garzon of Barangay Anticala took home recognition for having the largest squash at 113 centimeters and the longest eggplant at 32 centimeters. Angeline Ighot of Barangay Masao had the heaviest milkfish, weighing 1.49 kilograms, while Victor P. Carampatana of Barangay Bit-os had the biggest banana bunch. These achievements reflect the dedication and skill of Butuan's agricultural community in producing high-quality and bountiful harvests.
