BUTUAN CITY — The 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Butuan City has approved several resolutions aimed at strengthening healthcare services, improving school security, and supporting youth programs. Among the key measures approved include support for the establishment of a mental health facility under the supervision of Butuan Medical Center, financial assistance for the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Agusan Council, and a request from the Butuan City Local School Board to allocate funds for deploying licensed security guards in public schools.
Supporting Mental Health Services at Butuan Medical Center
During the session, officials from Butuan Medical Center presented the current status and needs of the hospital, including additional medical equipment and supplies to further improve their services. Psychiatrist Dr. Bernardo L. Conde attended the session, answering questions from councilors and expressing his support for the establishment of the mental health facility.
Ensuring Safety in Public Schools and Supporting Youth
The Sangguniang Panlungsod also approved a resolution requesting the Butuan City Local School Board to allocate funds for the deployment of licensed security guards in public schools across the city. This measure aims to enhance the safety and security of students and school personnel. Additionally, financial support was approved for the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Agusan Council, reinforcing the city's commitment to youth development and community programs.
