BUTUAN CITY — The future of agriculture and aquaculture in Butuan is taking a significant step forward as the City Government of Butuan, in partnership with Caraga State University, hosts the "Seminar-Workshop on Agri-Aqua Ideas: Thrive Enterprise" on August 27, 2026. This one-day event is part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 celebration and aims to equip young Butuanons with the skills to transform their agri-aqua concepts into viable businesses. By focusing on innovation and sustainability, the workshop addresses the growing need for young entrepreneurs to drive growth in the agriculture sector, a vital component of the region's economy.
Expert-Led Sessions to Build Business Acumen
The workshop will feature three expert-led sessions designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the agri-aqua startup ecosystem. Session 1, "Agri-Aqua Entrepreneurship: Discovering Opportunities for Young Entrepreneurs," will help participants identify gaps and trends in the sector. Session 2, "From Idea to Income: Developing a Viable Agri-Aqua Business," will guide attendees through the process of business planning and execution. Session 3, "Know Your Numbers & Market: Costing, Pricing, Branding and Marketing," will cover the financial and marketing essentials crucial for business success. The event will take place at The Navigatu, 2F Hiraya Hall, Caraga State University, Ampayon, Butuan City, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Strengthening Butuan's Agri-Aqua Ecosystem
The workshop is a collaborative effort between the CSU College of Agriculture and Agri-industries Local Student Government (CAALSG), the Butuan City Youth Development Council, the SK Pederasyon ng Butuan City, and the City Education Development Department. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of agripreneurs who can contribute to food security, sustainable livelihoods, and economic growth in Butuan. All Butuanon youth aged 18 to 30 and students from all colleges are encouraged to join. Lunch will be provided, and slots are strictly limited, so early registration is advised.
