ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA - In a major step toward expanding alternative and flexible academic pathways for adult learners, Holy Angel University (HAU) actively participated in a high-level national education seminar. Representatives from HAU's Institute for Academic Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IAIE) took part in the Commission on Higher Education's (CHED) highly anticipated Lifelong Learning Caravan cum Zonal Public Orientation, held on September 10, 2026, at The Monarch Hotel in Calasiao, Pangasinan. The forum focused heavily on the newly introduced Addendum to the Eligibility Requirements for ETEEAP Deputization of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Driven by the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD) alongside CHED Regional Offices I and III, the event united top-tier academic leaders and technical experts to align local institutions with the Philippines' aggressive lifelong learning agenda.
Redefining Higher Education Delivery
The caravan featured a series of dynamic plenary sessions and technical breakout discussions designed to future-proof how non-traditional students earn college degrees. Central topics included the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) , which evaluates new deputization rules allowing experienced working professionals to convert their years of industry mastery into formal bachelor's degrees. HAU has already been approved by CHED to offer ETEEAP, making it one of the select higher education institutions in the country authorized to implement the program. Other key topics included Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL) , which shares best practices on maintaining academic quality through flexible, borderless digital environments, and Micro-credentials, which explores bite-sized, verified skill certifications that offer professional advancement without immediate full-degree commitments.
