The local government of Mexico, Pampanga, and the Department of Education (DepEd) have formalized a major infrastructure partnership to expand local school facilities. A total of ₱52.59 million has been secured from DepEd national funds for the construction of 16 new classrooms across four public elementary schools in the municipality.
A ₱13.15 Million Investment Per School
The agreement, signed on July 20, 2026, in Makati City, was sealed by Mexico Mayor Ruding Santos Gonzales and DepEd Assistant Secretary Aurelio Paulo "AP" Bartolome . The ₱52.59 million funding covers the construction of four identical 2-storey buildings, each with 4 classrooms, at a cost of approximately ₱13.15 million per structure. The buildings will be delivered as turnkey projects, meaning they will include all necessary student and teacher school furniture, ensuring they are ready for use upon completion. The classrooms will be built at Gandus Elementary School, San Jose Matulid Elementary School, Sto. Domingo Elementary School, and Suclaban Elementary School.
