CEBU — The CDM Link, a new pedestrian bridgeway in City di Mare, was officially inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in the urban transformation of the South Road Properties. The bridge serves as both a vital mobility connection and a striking new landmark archway into Cebu City.
A New Gateway to Cebu City
The inauguration was attended by Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival, SRP-MO Executive Director Ma. Charisse Pineda, Filinvest Townships First Vice President Don Ubaldo, and CDM Deputy General Manager Gwen Sala. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort between the city government and private partners.
Developed as the first pedestrian bridge along the Cebu South Coastal Road, the CDM Link allows pedestrians and cyclists to move safely between IL Corso and the rest of City di Mare. Its impact extends beyond mobility, creating a dramatic architectural arch that transforms the experience of entering Cebu City from the south.
A Landmark Inspired by the Sea
The bridge's facade draws inspiration from "Sculpted Tides," an architectural concept referencing the rhythmic movement of ocean waves. Reflective panels mimic the nearby Cebu Strait, catching light throughout the day to create a shimmering effect reminiscent of the sea.
At night, a dynamic programmable lighting system displays changing colors, patterns, and community messages. This striking feature gives the CDM Link a distinctive presence along the coastal road, making it a recognizable beacon for motorists from Talisay, Minglanilla, Naga, and neighboring towns.
Boosting Walkability and Connectivity
Operating daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the bridge enhances walkability and connectivity within the township. It offers an early look at the seamless, people-centered experiences envisioned for the district's future.
The CDM Link is one of the newest additions to SRP's mobility infrastructure network. It supports the district's goal of creating a connected, vibrant environment where public spaces and architecture contribute to the overall urban experience.
Part of a Larger Vision for SRP
The bridgeway represents a broader vision for City di Mare, a 58-hectare mixed-use township developed through a partnership between Filinvest and the Cebu City Government. It adds to the vibrancy and character of the city while shaping a waterfront district.
Don Ubaldo, First Vice President and Head of Filinvest Townships, shared that CDM Link stands as a visible expression of the future envisioned for SRP. He described it as a preview of the connected and people-centered district being built, serving as an exciting new gateway to emerging opportunities.
