The Coast Guard Station Pampanga and local government units are actively delivering humanitarian aid to families affected by severe flooding in San Luis, Apalit, Lubao, Minalin, and San Simon. The relief operations, which involve hauling, transporting, and distributing essential goods, are being carried out in coordination with Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to ensure that affected families receive immediate assistance.

Relief Operations Overview

The Coast Guard Station Pampanga is actively assisting disaster offices in hauling, transporting, and distributing relief goods to families affected by flooding in five municipalities. Local Government Units and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices are working alongside the Coast Guard to ensure that essential supplies reach communities in need. The target towns include San Luis, Apalit, Lubao, Minalin, and San Simon, which are among the areas hardest hit by the enhanced southwest monsoon and recent storms.

A Coordinated Response to Widespread Flooding

These relief efforts are part of a broader national response to severe weather conditions that have caused widespread damage across Central Luzon and other regions. The Department of Social Welfare and Development has prepositioned 5.2 million family food packs nationwide—the largest stockpile in the administration's history—to ensure swift distribution to affected communities. The Department of Public Works and Highways has also been implementing flood control measures, including dredging waterways and keeping pumping stations operational. As of August 12, over 15,000 families remain in evacuation centers across the country, underscoring the ongoing need for sustained relief operations. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed agencies to provide "unlimited" funds for relief and to ensure aid reaches even hard-to-reach areas.
