A new wing van worth nearly PHP 2 million was formally turned over by Governor Lilia "Nanay" Pineda to the Bacolor Onion Farmers Association on August 11, 2026. The vehicle will streamline the transport of onions from storage facilities to consumers at a lower cost, directly benefiting the 30 members of the association.

Faster Hauling and Lower Transport Costs

The wing van turnover was held at the Pampanga Food Security Complex (PFSC) in Barangay Sta. Catalina, Lubao, a facility previously inspected by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in July 2026 to observe its modern rice drying and milling operations . The vehicle will allow farmers to haul their harvests directly from the onion storage facility, significantly cutting transportation expenses.

Better Quality and Lower Prices for Consumers

By reducing logistical costs, the wing van helps ensure that onions reach the market fresher and at a lower price for Kapampangans. The Bacolor Onion Farmers Association, composed of 30 members, will also benefit from better quality control while delivering produce to the market. This initiative is part of the provincial government's ongoing efforts to support the agricultural sector and stabilize the prices of essential goods in the province.
