SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA - In a simple yet meaningful event on September 9, a Deed of Donation was officially signed between Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag and City Councilor Angelo "Lolo Konsi" Hizon, Jr. for the benefit of the San Fernando Center for Autism and Neurodiversity (SFCAN). Hizon committed a total donation of PHP 1.2 million to SFCAN, which will be distributed to the facility on a monthly basis. A portion of the donation was formally turned over to the City Treasurer's Office, marking the beginning of a year-long commitment to support the center's operations.
A Lifeline for Underprivileged Families
According to SFCAN, the donated funds will support the center's core programs, including consultancy services, assessments, and continuing education for its beneficiaries. Profiling data shows that the facility currently serves more than 700 individuals. Mayor Balle-Caluag highlighted the significance of the donation, noting that it directly addresses SFCAN's immediate financial needs. She added that the additional funding will allow the facility to serve more people, particularly underprivileged families who cannot afford private therapy for their children. This support is crucial for families who rely on the center's services but face financial barriers to accessing quality care for their loved ones.

Beyond this financial contribution, Hizon played a pivotal role in the creation of SFCAN as the co-sponsor of the ordinance that established the facility. He remains actively involved in supporting various city initiatives spanning infrastructure, education, food security, and other key areas. Hizon expressed deep empathy for the emotional and financial challenges faced by parents and guardians, commending them for their unwavering resilience and dedication to their families. The turnover ceremony was witnessed by CIPPESO Manager and Acting PDAO Head Mary Ann Biliwang, alongside Acting CSWD Officer Canneth Mangalus. This donation underscores the importance of community support in sustaining facilities that provide vital services to individuals with autism and neurodiversity, ensuring that no family is left behind in accessing the care they need.
