Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc. (YTPI) donated newly improved library and computer facilities to Concepcion Elementary School in Mabalacat City and Calzadang Bayu Elementary School in Porac, Pampanga. The project, which took place on July 22 and 24, 2026, aids over 1,400 total learners and supports the Department of Education's ARAL Program.

Concepcion Elementary School (Mabalacat City)
The turnover took place on July 22, 2026, benefiting 300 learners. Donations included books, educational materials, tables, chairs, bookshelves, and two desktop computers.
Calzadang Bayu Elementary School (Porac)
The turnover took place on July 24, 2026, benefiting over 1,100 students. Donations included library materials, tables, chairs, ceiling fans, bookshelves, and four desktop computers.
Mabalacat City has seen vibrant growth since attaining cityhood in 2012, buoyed by Clark International Airport and its thriving economic zone . Porac, where Calzadang Bayu Elementary School is located, is a municipality with 29 barangays, including Calzadang Bayu.
Partners and Program Goals
The project was spearheaded by YTPI's Public Relations-Community Service Relations (PR-CSR) Team in partnership with MJC Junkshop and Myegie Construction. The core objective was to support DepEd's Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program, which aims to improve student literacy and learning environments.
The ARAL Program is a key DepEd initiative that has shown clear improvements in reading proficiency among students. Based on Middle of School Year assessments, the percentage of struggling readers dropped significantly, with Grades 3–6 learners improving by approximately five percentage points and Grades 7–10 learners improving by six to nine points in reading readiness . This translates to millions of students getting closer to grade-level proficiency in reading. The program uses intensive remediation, focused tutorial sessions, and regular monitoring of student progress.
