MAKATI CITY — Anchoring the ground floor of 8 Rockwell along Lopez Drive, 12/10 stands as one of Makati's definitive modern Japanese culinary destinations. Established originally on Guijo Street in 2014 by co-founders Thea de Rivera and chef Gab Bustos, the concept transitioned to its premier Rockwell location in 2022. The restaurant currently holds a MICHELIN Selected accolade and is named among the unranked Tatler Best 20 Restaurants Philippines for 2026. Inside, the space pairs fine-dining sophistication with the casual energy of an izakaya, ensuring food and beverage programs are balanced with equal weight.
A Progressive Blend of French and Japanese Artistry
Chef Bustos centers his menu on a produce-driven philosophy, seamlessly weaving French technical execution into contemporary Japanese formats. The kitchen intentionally steps away from strict tradition to forge an inventive, well-balanced culinary identity. Notable creations include an indulgent Uni Toast amplified by chicken liver, pineapple, and shiso; a rich Gyukatsu complemented by cauliflower and horseradish; and an elegant lobster dish combined with zucchini, pomelo, and pine nuts. The resulting plates challenge diners to re-examine familiar flavor profiles through an unexpected culinary lens.
Distinct Day-to-Night Operations
Evening service centers on a highly curated, seasonal 11-course omakase journey alongside a select à la carte menu of small plates and highballs. Mirroring the kitchen's precision, the beverage framework spotlights artisanal cocktails, premium sake, and an entirely Japanese wine portfolio. During the day, the room shifts gears from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, pivoting to an espresso and matcha bar alongside casual sandos. On Sundays, the restaurant operates exclusively for a unique six-course lunch tasting experience and à la carte menu, closing its doors entirely at 5:00 PM with no evening dinner service.
