MANAMA, Bahrain — The Philippine Embassy in Bahrain, together with the Al Hilal Healthcare Group, is bringing back the “Healthy Pinoy!” Campaign 2026 on Friday, July 31, offering free blood tests and doctor consultations to the Filipino community. A simultaneous consular outreach mission will also be held at the same venue.
A Day Dedicated to Wellness
The event runs from seven in the morning until noon at the Al Hilal Medical Center – Manama Central Branch, located near the Manama Central Bus Station. Attendees can avail themselves of fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, kidney and liver function tests, plus blood pressure and oxygen saturation checks. No appointment is necessary; services are offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
Specialist doctors will be on hand to interpret the results immediately. This means a worker who comes in for a quick check can leave with a clear understanding of their health status and any needed follow‑up steps. The campaign targets common lifestyle diseases that affect many overseas workers, such as hypertension and diabetes, encouraging early detection and preventive care.
Consular Services Under One Roof
While the health screenings are underway, the Embassy’s consular team will process passport renewals, OWWA membership registrations, and voters’ registration on the second floor from eight in the morning until noon. The Migrant Workers Office will also be present to assist with labor and employment concerns. The simultaneous scheduling on a Friday, the general rest day for most workers in Bahrain, removes the need to take leave from work.
This setup is a practical solution for busy OFWs who often postpone government transactions because they cannot spare an extra day off. By combining health and consular services, the Embassy saves the community time, travel, and money. An entire morning can settle multiple errands that would otherwise require separate trips.
A Partnership for Community Wellness
The “Healthy Pinoy!” campaign is a continuing partnership between the Philippine Embassy and Al Hilal Healthcare Group, supported by OWWA and the Migrant Workers Office. It was first launched in 2024 to address the long‑term health concerns of the more than 57,000 Filipinos working in the Kingdom. The program has since grown into a much‑anticipated annual event that brings preventive care directly to the community.
Embassy officials noted that the initiative is part of their broader health and wellness program, which aims to keep kababayans healthy and productive while they work abroad. The free diagnostic services are particularly valuable for those who may not have regular access to medical check‑ups due to cost or time constraints. Early detection of illness can save lives and prevent costly hospitalizations later.
How to Avail the Services
Participants are advised to bring a valid Bahrain CPR or Philippine passport for identification. Fasting may be required before blood extraction to ensure accurate glucose and cholesterol readings, so it is best to come early and avoid food and drink beforehand. All services are free of charge.
The Embassy encourages every Filipino in Bahrain to take advantage of this opportunity to check their health and handle consular needs in one convenient visit. The message is simple: stay healthy, stay informed, and stay connected to home.
