The partnership aims to create a world-class sports, culture, and lifestyle district while preserving the venue's rich heritage.

PSC Chairman John Patrick "Pato" Gregorio led the ceremonial signing at Mall of Asia Square, joined by Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso and SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim. The event marked the beginning of a transformative journey for one of the country's most storied sporting landmarks. The collaboration blends heritage preservation with modern urban development.
"This is a defining moment for Philippine sports and heritage," Gregorio said. He emphasized that the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex is a living symbol of the nation's sporting legacy. With the support of Manila and SM Prime, the historic district will serve Filipinos for generations.

The redevelopment introduces several landmark features designed to blend heritage with modern urban planning. At the heart of the project is the PSC Plaza, which will extend across two lanes of Adriatico Street. A city ordinance will convert the area into a walkable public pathway, secured by a usufruct agreement.
An elevated walkway will connect the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex with the redeveloped SM Harrison Plaza. This integration creates a seamless sports and lifestyle district. The vision is to make the area a vibrant hub where history and modernity converge.

The redevelopment is strategically timed to prepare for the 2027 Southeast Asian Plus Youth Games, which will be hosted at RMSC.
