MAKATI CITY — Fans of comics, toys, collectibles, cosplay, and popular culture are in for a bigger celebration as SuperManila Comic Con 2026 returns to Makati City from September 4 to 6. For the first time, the convention will run for three full days, taking over The Concourse and SPACE at One Ayala. The expanded event is set to bring together international and Filipino comic book creators, acclaimed artists, collectors, exhibitors, toy brands, and thousands of pop culture enthusiasts for a weekend dedicated to creativity and fandom.
International Comic Book Icons Take the Spotlight
Among the convention’s highly anticipated guests are Marvel artist Peach Momoko, recognized for her distinctive Japanese-inspired style, and Singaporean illustrator Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, whose work has appeared across major franchises including Marvel, DC, and Capcom. Also joining the lineup is legendary Marvel artist Mike Zeck, known for influential work on Captain America, The Punisher, and Secret Wars, along with C.B. Cebulski, Marvel’s Editor for Asia Originals. The international roster further features Eric Canete, David Tran, Jeehyung Lee, Danny Kim, Inpyo Jeon, Derrick Chew, Kendrick Lim, Ejikure, Eric Chen, Ian Sta. Maria, Rudy Ao, veteran DC Comics artist Greg LaRocque, and Spawn Editor-in-Chief Thomas Healy. Filipino talent will also take center stage, with internationally recognized artists Carlo Pagulayan, Stephen Segovia, Miguel Mercado, Justine Frany, Von Randal, Manix Abrera, Roi Mercado, Lan Medina, and Harvey Tolibao joining the celebration.
Rare Releases Celebrate Filipino Komiks Heritage
Beyond meeting renowned artists, collectors can look forward to exclusive releases celebrating the country's rich komiks history. One of the major highlights is “Classic Darna #1,” which brings together stories from the iconic heroine’s earliest appearances with artwork by acclaimed Filipino artist Nestor Redondo. The release comes in two limited editions: a full-color virgin cover edition with 1,000 copies and a sepia-cover edition featuring black-and-white interiors, also limited to 1,000 copies. Both editions feature artwork by Stanley “Artgerm” Lau. Another sought-after release is “Ang Kaluluwa ni Dante,” a 116-page reproduction of Francisco V. Coching’s 1949 masterpiece. Coching, widely recognized as the “King of Komiks,” is honored through this limited release, with only 300 copies available. The convention will also feature premium collectibles from brands such as LEGO, Hot Toys, Funko, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, Iron Studios, and Gundam. Visitors can further enjoy cosplay, interactive exhibits, and community activities throughout the three-day gathering.
