TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Tagbilaran City has taken another step toward sustainable urban development by conducting the validation of its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) with the support of GIZ through the Urban-Act Program.

The validation workshop gathered members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, city department heads, barangay captains, and representatives from civil society organizations. The participants worked together to review, validate, and improve the city's long-term land use strategies.

Building a Sustainable and Climate-Resilient City

The updating of the CLUP is part of the executive agenda of Mayor Jane Yap, which focuses on creating a more sustainable, climate-resilient, and inclusive Tagbilaran City.

Through the collaborative planning process, stakeholders reviewed policies and development strategies to ensure they address current and future challenges while supporting responsible urban growth.

Stakeholders Help Shape Future Development

The validation workshop provided an opportunity for local government officials, community leaders, and partner organizations to contribute ideas and recommendations for the city's future development.

The updated land use plan aims to balance economic growth, environmental protection, and community development while responding to the changing needs of Tagbilaran residents.

Supporting Inclusive and Resilient Communities

Once finalized, the updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan will serve as a guide for future infrastructure projects, environmental conservation, housing, and other development initiatives in Tagbilaran City.

The city government said the planning process reflects its commitment to creating resilient communities, promoting sustainable development, and improving the quality of life for present and future generations of Tagbilaranons.
