TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — A newly completed dressing room and comfort room facility at Talisay Beach in Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City, is helping create a more convenient and welcoming space for residents and visitors.

The community project provides basic but important amenities for beachgoers, making it easier for families, local residents and tourists to enjoy the coastal area. The addition of these facilities also reflects efforts to improve public spaces while supporting the growing interest in community-based and grassroots tourism in Bohol.

Government Agencies Work Together

The project was supported by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), under the leadership of Gov. Aris Aumentado, in partnership with the City Government of Tagbilaran. The Sangguniang Barangay Taloto, headed by Barangay Captain Francis Eugene Zamora, handled the implementation of the project.

The collaboration shows how provincial, city and barangay governments can work together to address community needs and improve facilities in areas that are important to residents and visitors.

Creating a More Welcoming Beach Space

The new dressing room and comfort room give beachgoers access to essential facilities while spending time at Talisay Beach. For local communities, improvements like these can make public spaces more comfortable and accessible. For visitors, better amenities can contribute to a more positive experience and encourage longer visits to local destinations.

The project also supports the idea that tourism development does not always require large-scale infrastructure. Simple community improvements can make local destinations more attractive while directly benefiting the people who use them.

Supporting Grassroots Tourism in Bohol

Talisay Beach is part of the community spaces that can contribute to Tagbilaran City’s local tourism activities. By improving basic facilities, the project can help create better conditions for residents and visitors while encouraging responsible use of the coastal area. Community-based projects can also provide opportunities for local businesses and residents to benefit from tourism as more people discover local destinations.

Strengthening Local Partnerships

The PGBh continues to emphasize partnerships with barangays and the City Government of Tagbilaran in delivering projects and services closer to communities. These partnerships allow local governments to respond to specific needs while ensuring that development projects contribute to broader provincial goals. The Talisay Beach project demonstrates how cooperation at different levels of government can turn community needs into practical improvements.

Building a Sustainable Future for Bohol

The initiative supports the PGBh Strategic Change Roadmap, which focuses on building a smart, resilient, inclusive and sustainable province. It also aligns with efforts to responsibly protect and promote the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark.

With improved community facilities, stronger local partnerships and responsible tourism practices, projects like the Talisay Beach development can help Bohol continue growing as a destination while keeping the needs of its communities at the center of development.
