Catigbian Sweeps Top Honors
Catigbian’s Pondok Katigbawan Festival captivated judges and audiences alike with its dynamic storytelling and colorful production. The contingent also earned Best in Production Design and Best in Street Dancing, dominating the special awards. Their performance highlighted the town’s agricultural heritage and legendary cave systems.
The energy along CPG Avenue was electric as Catigbian dancers, adorned in elaborate costumes, moved in perfect sync to live drum beats. Spectators cheered as the group transitioned from the street parade to the grand ritual showdown at the CPG Sports Complex. Alburquerque Shines with Asin Tibuok Heritage
First runner‑up Alburquerque presented the Asin Tibuok Festival, a tribute to the endangered craft of making traditional sea‑salt “dinosaur eggs.” Their performance featured live rondalla and brass instruments, earning them Best in Musicality. The poignant storytelling underscored the importance of preserving this unique intangible cultural heritage.
Loay’s Sambat Festival captured second runner‑up, while Dimiao and Antequera rounded out the top five with their own vibrant displays.
