Mayor Greg Welcomes New Comelec-Bacolod Officer
BACOLOD - Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya welcomed Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria, the newly appointed Acting Election Officer of Comelec-Bacolod, during a courtesy call at the city government on Monday, September 21. The meeting provided an opportunity for the city government and the Commission on Elections to discuss matters involving election administration and public service. Mayor Greg expressed the city's support for the new election officer as Comelec-Bacolod continues its preparations for upcoming electoral activities.
Comelec-Bacolod Considers More Accessible Office Location
One of the matters discussed during the courtesy call was the possible transfer of the Comelec-Bacolod office to a more accessible location. The proposed move is intended to make it more convenient for residents who need to visit the election office for registration, inquiries, documents, and other election-related concerns. Improving accessibility could also help provide the public with a more convenient way to access Comelec services as preparations for future elections continue.
Preparations for Barangay and SK Elections Continue
Ananoria also shared that preparations for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections are continuing. He also clarified that there is currently no basis for implementing a new measure that would extend the terms of incumbent barangay and SK officials. The discussion comes as election preparations move forward, with Comelec-Bacolod continuing its work to ensure that necessary arrangements are in place for the upcoming electoral process.
