TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The Tagbilaran City Government, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), concluded the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026 by recognizing barangays that demonstrated excellence in disaster risk reduction and management.
During the culmination program, the city announced the winners of the BiDA (Best in DRRM Action) Barangay 2026awards, honoring communities that showed outstanding commitment to disaster preparedness, response, and resilience.
Barangay Taloto was named Champion, followed by Barangay Ubujan as 1st Runner-Up and Barangay Mansasa as 2nd Runner-Up.
Winning Barangays Receive Project Incentives
To support future community development and disaster preparedness projects, the winning barangays received project incentives from the city government.
Champion – Barangay Taloto: Php 1.5 million
1st Runner-Up – Barangay Ubujan: Php 1 million
2nd Runner-Up – Barangay Mansasa: Php 500,000
In addition, all 15 participating barangays were provided with First Aid Backpacks to strengthen their emergency response capabilities and improve community preparedness.
Strengthening Community Resilience
The BiDA Barangay program encourages local communities to improve their disaster risk reduction and management programs by promoting preparedness, safety, and resilience at the barangay level.
Through initiatives like these, the Tagbilaran City Government continues to invest in disaster readiness while recognizing the efforts of barangays that actively work to protect their residents during emergencies.
Police Community Relations Month Also Concludes
As part of the day's activities, city officials also attended a courtesy meeting with FCSUPT Rodolfu P. Denaga, DSC, Regional Director, followed by the 31st Police Community Relations Month Culmination Program.
The events highlighted the city's continued partnership with law enforcement agencies and local communities in promoting public safety, disaster preparedness, and community development.
