Metro Manila, Philippines – The newly opened Cavitex C5 Link Expressway Segment 3B has cut travel time between Parañaque and Bonifacio Global City (BGC) from over an hour to just 15 minutes. The elevated toll road, now fully operational, provides a direct high-speed link between the southern metro and the central business district, bypassing the usual congestion along EDSA and C5.
Officials from Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) said the segment—featuring direct ramps to McKinley Road and Lawton Avenue—seamlessly connects BGC to the Cavitex network. “We are connecting the growing residential and tourism centers in the south to one of the country’s premier economic zones,” a spokesperson said.
Tourism Boost
For tourists and business travelers, the expressway creates a vital corridor between Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and BGC’s hotels, dining, and retail hubs. Visitors arriving in Parañaque can now reach BGC in under 20 minutes without navigating city traffic. The link also eases travel between the entertainment districts of Parañaque, the SM Mall of Asia complex, and BGC, encouraging higher foot traffic for events, staycations, and gastronomic tourism.
“This expressway effectively turns the airport, the entertainment cities of Parañaque, and BGC into one contiguous district,” a tourism analyst noted.
With the project complete, motorists can expect faster commutes, reduced fuel costs, and a smoother link between the south and the country’s financial heart.
