DAVAO — The province celebrated the exceptional service and dedication of its young leaders during the Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan Awards and Recognition Night (OSKARS) on August 31, 2026. The ceremony, held at Molave Hotel in Tagum City, recognized top-performing SK councils for their contributions to youth development and community progress.
Celebrating Youth Leadership Excellence
The OSKARS ceremony was spearheaded by the Provincial Youth Development Division, bringing together the best SK councils from across the province. The event served as a platform to honor the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment of youth leaders who have made significant contributions to their communities. The recognition reflects the province's investment in nurturing strong and effective youth governance.
SK Federation President Noriel John Ramacula emphasized the importance of acknowledging these efforts. He said the awards are a tribute to the heartfelt service and dedication demonstrated by youth leaders throughout the province. Top Winners and Special Recognitions
SK Magcagong from Maragusan emerged as the top-performing council, taking home the first-place trophy, ₱35,000 in cash, and the special Excellence in Financial Accountability award. Their exemplary management of resources set a benchmark for other councils to follow. The recognition highlights the importance of transparency and responsible governance at the grassroots level.
SK Poblacion from Compostela secured second place, receiving a trophy and ₱20,000 in cash. Meanwhile, SK Tuboran from Mawab claimed third place with a trophy, ₱10,000, and the Model Community Partnership special award. Their collaborative approach to community projects demonstrated the power of working together for the common good.
Fourth to tenth placers each received trophies and ₱5,000 in cash. Among them were SK Cuambog from Mabini, SK Talian from Maragusan, SK San Jose from Montevista, and SK Kaligutan from Laak. Others recognized included SK Poblacion from Laak, SK Kingking from Pantukan, and SK Olaycon from Monkayo. Twenty-four SK Council finalists across the province also received plaques for their achievements.
A Commitment to Youth Development
The event also recognized the top three Local Youth Development Offices in the province. Monkayo claimed first place with a ₱15,000 incentive, Compostela followed in second with ₱10,000, and Nabunturan placed third with ₱7,000. These offices play a crucial role in supporting youth programs and initiatives at the municipal level.
Governor Raul "RM" Mabanglo's message resonated throughout the ceremony: ensuring strong youth leadership today means preparing a more progressive province for tomorrow.
