DAVAO — Damosa Land Inc. has reported robust performance across its commercial, industrial, hospitality, and residential portfolios during its Mid-Year Media Briefing, signaling that Mindanao's economic momentum is already in full swing. President Ricardo "Cary" Floirendo Lagdameo declared that the region can no longer be called a land of promise because the growth is happening now.
Strong Occupancy and Sales Across Sectors
The developer recorded 94.9 percent occupancy across its commercial portfolio, reflecting sustained demand for office and retail spaces in Davao. Its hospitality project has sold 81 of 90 units, demonstrating strong investor confidence in the region's tourism and leisure sector.
At Anflo Industrial Estate in Panabo City, 24 locators are now operational. Seventy percent of them are export-oriented manufacturers, and nearly 2,000 people work within the estate. These figures underscore the estate's role as a driver of employment and export activity in Davao del Norte.
Davao's Diverse Economic Base
Lagdameo emphasized that Davao is not a one-trick pony, noting that no single industry dominates the local economy. He cited agribusiness, business process outsourcing, education, finance, trade, and tourism as key pillars supporting sustained growth. This diversification reduces risk and creates opportunities across multiple real estate segments.
The Damosa Land president also addressed long-held misconceptions about Mindanao, saying the company strives to show what the reality is on the ground. As the region positions itself for more investment, accurate narratives about its economic strength become increasingly important for attracting both local and international capital.
Next Growth Areas Identified
Lora Porras, AVP for Commercial and Industrial, outlined the company's priority sectors for expansion. These include leisure-oriented residential communities, additional office and commercial space, industrial park expansion, and a wider hospitality footprint. The strategy focuses on choosing where demand is strongest and where the next growth sectors will emerge.
This forward-looking approach builds on Damosa Land's established portfolio, which spans townships, industrial ecozones, commercial centers, residential communities, and hotel partnerships. The company remains committed to developing across all sectors while adapting to evolving market conditions.
A Legacy Rooted in Davao
Damosa Land serves as the property development arm of the ANFLO Group of Companies, tracing its origins to the post-war Davao Motor Sales founded by Don Antonio O. Floirendo Sr. The firm rebranded as Damosa Land Inc. in 2004 and has since become a leading sustainable real estate developer in Mindanao.
Its portfolio includes Agriya in Panabo City, an agropolis blending township infrastructure with agriculture, and Anflo Industrial Estate, a certified industrial ecozone hosting manufacturing and cold storage locators. Commercial projects such as Damosa IT Park and Damosa Diamond Tower anchor its presence in Davao City, while residential developments like Damosa Fairlane and Seawind serve growing communities.
