MATI CITY, Davao Oriental — The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) transformed the Provincial Capitol Covered Court into a lively classroom on July 30, 2026, inviting everyone to see, touch, and understand the equipment that saves lives. The DRRM Static Display was a highlight of National Disaster Resilience Month.
A Public Showcase of Readiness
Families, students, and local officials wandered through rows of rescue vehicles, extrication tools, and communication gear. Fire trucks, ambulances, and tactical support vehicles stood with doors open, welcoming curious visitors to climb aboard. Children tried on helmets while responders explained how hydraulic cutters peel open crushed cars.
The exhibit bridged the gap between first responders and the people they serve. Instead of seeing this equipment only during emergencies, the public now understood its purpose and how it operates. That familiarity builds trust and reduces panic when disasters strike.
